posted in General Update, Life Sciences

Bowman and Brooke LLP's Discovery Coordination and eDiscovery Practice group presents the first of a three-part series of articles on discovery and document management.

Article 1, "Effective Litigation Holds," prepares you for implementing effective steps to preserve relevant information at the onset of litigation. It educates you about the new Fed. R. Civ. P. 37(e) on sanctions for "Failure to Preserve Electronically Stored Information," and the "reasonable steps" federal courts will expect you to take in order to avoid sanctions.

In the article Bowman & Brooke attorneys discusses how defense counsel can protect a company’s valuable proprietary information during the discovery process. They discuss the critical importance of educating and training employees on appropriate use of electronic communications, and highlight the tools needed to act promptly and appropriately when litigation is threatened or instituted.
